Graduation Season

dress: Nasty Gal // boots: Urban Outfitters

My best friend recently graduated from Oregon State, and we celebrated with a fun party on Saturday. After sipping mimosas and taking silly pictures, we were all beat. Day drinking isn't as easy at 22 ;) Instead of heading out to Hollywood like we had originally planned, we laid in bed reminiscing of the past five years (#ragers). Regardless, I am so proud of you Britt! Now I really feel like it's time for me to be done. September can't come soon enough (but really I am terrified of it ending, just don't tell). I can't imagine going through this crazy life with any other friend by my side. Here's to the future (I know it will be bright for you!)

Father's Day 2014

Monday, June 16, 2014

This year we decided to head to Griffith Park as a fam and celebrate the wonder man that my dad is. My oldest sister snuck away for a much needed vacay, so we got Quinnie for the day and decided to let her cause some trouble on the ponies. My dad is one of the most selfless human beings I've ever met, and I'm more than blessed to call him my own. He (and my beautiful momma) put others above themselves 100 percent of the time, and I can only hope to be half of the person and parents they are!
(We went last year around this time of year, and it's crazy to see how much bigger Q has gotten! See that here.)

There are quite a few photos, so click through to see the rest if you'd like to!

for posterity's sake

I should probably start with where I've been or what exactly I've been up to over here in the real world, but I'm not going to do that. You see, I'm a rule breaker. So instead I'm going to dump (I LOATHE that word) a bunch of non-related pictures into this post so that one day I'll be able to look back and see what the hell I was up to in April/May/June/ when I was 22...

My big sister is the best mommy. I love that Mother's Day now means celebrating both she and my momma. Both of them are great examples of what it means to put another person before yourself. And they're knockouts, so that doesn't hurt either.
One of my best friends from Long Beach just graduated! I couldn't be more proud. We started out playing soccer as mini freshman 4 years ago, and we've both come a long way. She's done with school, I'm done in September. She's engaged, I'm not...the list goes on. But I'm still one super proud best friend! :)
School is done for the quarter in 6 days. I then have a nice little 2.5 week break and then start my last quarter of school. EVER! Well maybe not ever. I'm trying to decide if I want to do the whole Bachelor's degree thing. Only time will tell. Some of my best friends are done with school this quarter, and I sure will be sad to see them go!
With Summer right around the corner, I've been trying my best to get back into bikini shape. Let's be real here for a moment. It's HARD work! I'm not one of those girls who has the luxury of being able to eat what I want when I want to (although that was the case for the first 20 years of my life. a middle finger up to you metabolism). Balance has always been a huge problem for me. Trying to find balance in all aspects of my life really. I need to learn how to find the balance between a healthy lifestyle, working out, eating right, and the occasional splurge. I need to find balance with my personal life and school. Netflix and homework. In all aspects really. Admitting you have a problem is the first step right? Ok cool.

I hope this wasn't a complete bore. I remember when this blog used to be more of a place for me to share little snippets of my daily life, and I think I would really like to make my way back to that place. I hope you'll stick around. (Hi Rachel and Rebecca if you're reading this ;))
