top: H&M
Scarf: Free People (love this and this!)
Boots: Steve Madden (old)
Rings: H&M (similar)

Its almost the weekend! It rained drizzled for the first time in a while yesterday and I welcomed it with open arms. I LOVE the cold! It rarely gets cooler than 65 degrees here in LA, but when it does I go all out. Scarves, beanies, sweaters, boots...the whole nine yards. This outfit was one of those said times. I usually go for infinity scarves, but this extra long Free People scarf is extra cozy and the perfect mix of purples! Love it. The zipper on the back of this top also adds a little extra something, don't you think? xx

Introducing : Style Antics

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Naturally, with growth comes change, which is exactly why I have decided to rebrand this blog. As a creature of habit, I tend to shy away from things that are uncomfortable. My hope, with changing my blog name, is that I can take a step forward and take this blog down a different path. Form
follows function right? (man that’s a lot of cliche phrases, but what can you do?)

I have been debating when the best time would be to do this, and an easy way for my followers to get adjusted, but I don't think there is one! I am a part of a fun week of giveaways (here!) and am still sponsoring a couple blogs under my old blog name, so I know this might be tricky, but please bare with me!

Although my blog might be renamed, that doesn't mean I plan on switching things up entirely. Style Antics will be my place to share my favorite style related things: fashion, design, inspirations, and whatever else tickles my fancy ;)

As you can probably tell, I have a brand spankin' new url to go along with my blog revamp. If you like bookmarking your favorite blogs (which I totally do!) then feel free :) You will still be able to access my blog by using my old url (, but it just seems much simpler to me that you get this one stuck in your head. I'm here to stay a while. I am SO excited to make this change and thank you for all the support and love I've received up until this point.

Why "Style Antics"?
I wanted a name I could run with! I don't think people are defined by one specific thing, and that is most definitely not what I want this blog to be. An antic, by definition, is anything that is very playful, funny, and silly. Ding ding! That's my style to a t. Plus, The phrase "Style Antics" sounds wildly similar to style addict, doesn't it? (please say you agree!?!) If anything  am addicted to learning about style and all that it entails...

Thanks for following along! Stay a while, wont you? xx

Placing an image inside of text : photoshop tutorial

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Happy Monday! It's been a while, but I thought I'd show you all a fun Photoshop Tutorial. If you don't have Photoshop I highly recommend you get it! It does cost quite a bit, but they have a free 30 day trial you can purchase here. This tutorial will show you how to place any image you have inside of text. This is a fun way to spruce up a moodboard, or liven up an ordinary image!
Step 1: Choose an image you want to fill your type with and paste it onto a new blank document (this will help once we delete some of the image in future steps.)
Step 2: Choose the font you want to use. It works best with a thicker font (I used Bebas Neue here) because you want to showcase as much of your picture as possible.
Step 3: This may look exactly like step 1, but you will need to move your text layer (the one that says "coffee" in this case) and drag it under your image layer (layer 1 in this case). If your current text looks as if it has disappeared, don't worry! It's just hiding behind your image.
Step 4: There are several ways to do this, but the simplest would be to go to the top navigation bar, go to layer>create clipping mask. Once you have done this, you might be ready to go! Click save and have fun. If you aren't satisfied with the size of your text, you can still transform the text size, like this:
Make sure you select your text layer (in this case "coffee" and then scale your text to the size you want.  You can either highlight the entire word and change the point size to what you want, or free transform your text by pressing command T (on a mac) and dragging in the corners. Remember to hold down shift when transforming anything.

If you have any questions regarding ANYTHING Photoshop, don't hesitate to ask! I was shown everything at one time or another, so I'd love to help with any questions you have. You can see my other tutorials here and here.

tee: Urban Outfitter, jeans: Hudson, boots: Frye, necklace: Free People

Happy Monday! I swear this weekend just flew by, even with the extra hour of sleep. But man, that extra hour was heavenly wasn't it? This outfit is a whole bunch of old items I was drawn to on this particular day. You can never go wrong with boots, jeans, and a tee. Especially when you are rummaging through your closet and can't find one single thing to wear (which let's be honest, happens to me daily now and then). Here's to a great week! xx T
