Here's the latest!!

I had such an amazing time working with Amanda! She loves anchors
and wanted to incorporate pinks and golds into her overall design. My kind of girl!
Go pay her a visit at her blog. You won't be disappointed :)

Interested in working together? Take a look at my prices and portfolio and

out and about

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I spent the afternoon running errands with one of Nick's roommates. We stopped
by the Farmers Market and went roaming around downtown Santa Cruz.
So many beautiful colors, how could I not take pictures of everything?
It was such a beautiful day! We got home and made some of the best veggie soup
I have ever had! And I'm a soup connoisseur so that's saying a lot.

On a completely different note, October is right around
the corner. Say whaaaa! I'm ready for Thanksgiving...yum.

L o v i n g : FALL!

R e a d i n g : Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. LOVE this book. The trials and tribulations of romance and friendship. My kind of read. Highly recommend this bad boy!

W a t c h i n g : The new fall t.v. lineup is insane! So many new shows to add to my list. If only I had tivo. Grey's Anatomy, Park Avenue 666, Once Upon A Time, Revenge, The New Normal, Go On...just to name a few!

A n t i c i p a t i n g : School starting! I can't wait to get into a new routine and get dressed up for school everyday! I'm such a girl. That's my favorite part of starting a new school year...the clothes :)

L i s t e n i n g  t o : The new T Swift single Begin Again. Pulls on your heart strings I tell ya. Take a listen and tell me you love it as much as I do.

P l a n n i n g : My birthday dinner! I'm not a big party go-er, but birthdays just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

W o r k i n g  o n : A few awesome blog designs! My favorite part about designing is making new friends and creating something beautiful that is uniquely them.

W i s h i n g : That Canon 5D Mark III wasn't so expensive. My Rebel has done me good, but I wish I could upgrade! One day right?

Got this lovely idea from Hudson's Happenings.

finally fall.

Is it just me or are you all extremely happy it's finally fall?
Apparently the weather wasn't informed, but what can you do, right?

I took a little drive up north and am now cuddled up on the couch. Northern Cali just knows what's up.
It feels like fall here, so I'm going to take advantage. I think a pumpkin spice latte just may be in my future...

Happy Monday xoxo

P.S. If you have been a regular around these parts, or just stopped by to lurk for the first time (WELCOME), then you know I love me some photography! I want to buy a new lens, but need some suggestions. What are your favorites? I have a 50mm, but I'm looking for a more every day lens. Hit me with your picks :) Thanks in advance!

I also designed a new header!
Go see it live here.

a note to self:

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

With my 21st birthday fast approaching, I can't help but look back on my life thus far and think "I wish I had done that differently." Of course that's not the way life works (duh), but if I could do some things over you better believe I would. High school was both the best and most challenging time of my life. First love and first heartache, best friends becoming worst enemies, popularity feeling like the most important thing in the world, selfishness and selflessness, and great opportunities. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Notes to my high school self:

+ Family is most important. They are the only
people who will always have your best interest at heart.
+ Small boobies (lol) are not the end of the world! Learn to love yourself no
matter your insecurities. Don't let that define how you feel about yourself.
+ Just because you plan on getting a soccer scholarship, it doesn't mean grades
should come second. You'll end up choosing going down a completely different
path. But don't worry! Everything will turn out like it's supposed to.
+ Don't let that bad breakup define you, as a person. It's whats his
names loss. See, he won't even be a thought in your head in 4 years.
+ Don't argue with your mom. She's your best friend and only wants what's best for you.
+ Stay true to your beliefs. People will admire you for choosing to do what makes
you happy, and not just following along with what your friends think is cool.

I've come to realize that both success and loss make you the person you are, but it's not so much who you used to be, but who you want to become. I would love for this next year of my life to be one of mostly success, but I know that I will be able to overcome the difficulties it has to offer as well. And how do I know this? I've survived 20 years filled with ups and downs and twist and turns. 21 better be ready for me!

I just want to send out a huge thank you for those that continue to read my blog and share in my experiences with me. I may not share every little piece of my life with you, but it has been a place where I have learned to own my voice, and I look forward to always feeling comfortable sharing my feelings with you. You're friendships, comments, and emails genuinely do make me extremely happy, so thank you.

Monday Inspiration

(ignore the poor image quality. taken with my iphone)
Happy Monday! Found this gem and had to share. It's so vital to focus on the
important things in life and not stress too much about the little things:

I’ve learned-
that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
I’ve learned-
that no matter how much I care, so
me people just don’t care back.
I’ve learned-
that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
I’ve learned-
that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I’ve learned-
that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.
I’ve learned-
that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse.
I’ve learned-
that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something.
I’ve learned-
that you shouldn’t compare yourself to the best others can do.
I’ve learned-
that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
I’ve learned-
that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I’ve learned-
that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I’ve learned-
that you can keep going long after you can’t.
I’ve learned-
that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I’ve learned-
that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I’ve learned-
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.
I’ve learned-
that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I’ve learned-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I’ve learned-
that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I’ve learned-
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down will be the ones to help you get back up.
I’ve learned-
that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.
I’ve learned-
that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I’ve learned-
that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.
I’ve learned-
that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.
I’ve learned-
that you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it.
I’ve learned-
that your family won’t always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren’t related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren’t biological.
I’ve learned-
that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you are to learn to forgive yourself.
I’ve learned-
that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief.
I’ve learned-
that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I’ve learned-
that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.
I’ve learned-
that just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.
I’ve learned-
that we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I’ve learned-
that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I’ve learned-
that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I’ve learned-
that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process.
I’ve learned-
that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I’ve learned-
that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I’ve learned-
that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
I’ve learned-
that it’s hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people’s feelings, and standing up for what you believe.
I’ve learned-
that people will forget what you said, an
d people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Here it is! I'm so so happy to introduce you to Kyna and her new blog design :) I've learned so much through the process and had a blast working tirelessly to perfect the look and feel of what Kyna loves.
This really is what I love to do, and I can NOT wait to start school and learn the ins and outs.

Head on over to great expectations and take a looksy :) Let me know what you think and tell Kyna I sent you! You won't be sorry. She will rock your world, that I can promise you...

(Email me if you need a blog makeover!! I'd love to work with you too!)

This little cookie is always on the move! She is starting to get old enough to mimic what she sees. She can pucker up just like her auntie, and she thinks it the funniest thing ever! (see pic #3) She sure does love her papa. They are inseparable.
Happy Tuesday. My heart is so happy!

I also edited my "about" page. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Busy Busy

Monday, September 10, 2012

But loving it! Babysitting up a storm, working out daily, and designing a blog for one of my favorites! I can't wait to share it with you guys :) I did carve out some time for a mani pedi though! But who am I kidding I always have time to do that.

Am I the only one who goes a little stir crazy not having anything to do or anywhere to go? I find I'm much HAPPIER when I'm busy and barely have time to sit down!

Tomorrow is September 11th. Today I am going to think of how blessed I am to have my friends and family, and the immense amounts of love I am subjected to daily! I hope you do the same. Never take one second of your life for granted!
